Elswick Church in Lancashire
A letter of information from the Church Secretary
Hoping you are all keeping safe & well in these most testing of times.
The year has been very challenging, these have been difficult months for many of our
Church family especially those who have lost loved ones, faced loneliness & illness.
Christmas this year seems so strange but we look forward to the
New Year and an end to tiers & lockdowns.
Our Church has now been redecorated in a new colour scheme, the scaffolding has been removed
& professional cleaners are coming in on Wednesday and the organ is being retuned.
The bulbs in the chandeliers have been changed to LED, as have the new floods in the Church
and the choir area.
The contractors and Mike our electrician have done a great job as you will see.
We thank Revs. Jim & Janet for their ongoing Email weekly services
& Ian for his daily thoughts during lockdown and their continuing support.
Church will reopen on Sunday 3rd January with a short service led by our good friend Envoy Stuart Gay.
It is intended to hold afternoon services on the second Sunday of the month in the afternoon,
at 2.00pm led by Rev. Jim.,and this starts on 10th January!
Unfortunately at this time we are unable to open Junior Church.
Junior Church have been busy making cards with lovely messages of Optimism & Hope
which have been sent on to our two local rest homes.
Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be men of courage, be strong - Do everything in love. 1.Cor.16v13
May God bless you with peace & surround you with his love this Christmas.
